Katie and Craig Alexander House wedding

I met Katie and Craig at the Alexander House wedding fair and was over the moon when they chose to book me to photograph their wedding. They immediately came across as a lovely couple and I knew that their day would be a lot of fun.

On top of that Alexander House is one of my favourite venues in Sussex – it really is a special place and I’ve never heard anyone give a view other than that it has exceeded expectations. The effort they put into making a wedding day special for a couple is immense too – despite the number of weddings they host each year they never “go through the motions” but instead make sure they treat each couple as unique and take the day as seriously as the couple do. That’s a business ethos that’s close to my own heart so I always feel very at home there!

I started the photography at Craig and Katie’s house with Craig getting ready. I never take for granted being present at such an emotionally loaded time for a family and the way I was made to feel welcome by Craig’s family confirmed for me that it was going to be special atmosphere at the wedding. After the shots there I went on to Alexander House to get Katie’s preparation photographs.

The ceremony, speeches and entertainment laid on for the guests was all fantastic, with the guests responding as you’d expect and all a lot of fun and great to photograph. The first dance was a great way to end the night for me too (though I know it carried on long after I’d gone!)
