The lovely Jon and Jen got married at Buxted Park , a fabulous venue whatever the weather. It was one of those “four seasons in one day” type weddings – a windy morning and 20 minutes before the ceremony was due to start we had a massive torrential downpour yet within half an hour we had stunning deep blue skies and bright sunshine!
I photographed both the bride and groom getting ready (Jen with Christina Jessel, my favourite make-up artist) then they had a very romantic civil ceremony in the Coat of Arms room. Following that there was a Jewish blessing outside under a chuppah. That helped give the occasion a huge sense of timelessness and it was lovely to witness. I’ve now photographed a couple of weddings that have followed that format and have just been booked for another next summer which is great.
Guests mingled outside in the sun while we quickly did the formal photographs then it was inside for some great food (as always at Buxted Park) and the first dance. The fantastic couple were given a proper celebration by their guests and I’ve no doubt they’ll not be the only ones who never forget the day.
